Today I will be checking out an available apartment in the oldest part of Brescia. Roman ruins are just a stone's throw away. It's a tiny apartment and will cost 400€ a month.
At today's rate, a whopping 1€ to $1.417*, that's $566.88. Luckily, I'm moving from one of the world's most expensive places to live. A quick search on Craig's List makes this place sound like a deal.
The price doesn't include utilities, which I hear are quite expensive during the winter. Nonetheless, I'm excited to move into a place to call my own, but I'm going to miss living with my family.
My nephews are a joy to be around. Luc, the 6 year old, brought me his Italian dictionary yesterday afternoon. "Aunt Janelle, I want to share this with you so you can learn Italian. Here are the words. The words are in black." (It's a standard dictionary, black and white.)
The other night after I kissed the boys goodnight I said, "Goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite."
Luc replied in all seriousness, "Aunt Janelle, the bugs won't bite me because I have a net." Both boys have a mosquito net over their bed.
Well, that settles it. My nephews are going to have to move in with me.

* What's going on over there? When I left the exchange rate was hoovering around 1€ to $1.34. I leave and the whole country falls to pieces. *Sigh.*

Economic indicators have fallen due to a lack of good design principles and reports of meandering Funny roving the countryside. We are trying to keep our chins up and hope for a brighter day.
Come back soon; it's only likely to get worse while you are away.
Sara: :)
That's whose fault it is: the meandering Funny. I swear, let that boy out of my sight for 10 minutes...
Ken: I'll send loving thoughts. Let's hope for the best.
