727. Diversify your deities.

So, I'm still preparing for my show. One of the things I enjoyed most about preparing for the show is the research. For example, I knew that the figurines below were inspired by a French cartoon, but I didn't know who the artist was:



The artist is Albert Dubout. The center figurine is called, "Partons, Chérie!" ("Let's leave, dear!"). The title makes sense when you see its profile:



My widget translator and I have been spending a lot of time together, too. When I took pictures of art and sculpture in Europe, I did a decent job of taking a picture of the accompanying placard and/or identifying information.

I love my translator widget. Mac users need no explanation--at least I hope not! For my PC readers: widgets are small, convenient programs on our "dashboard". A dashboard is like a secret (and more fun) desktop. I love the translator widget because it begins translating almost immediately as you type in the words. It's quicker than going to an on-line site like Altavist's Babelfish.

The translator widget seems to be as accurate as the online sites I've used. And just like the online sites, when it gets it wrong, it really gets it wrong. Below is a picture of what my widget translated for me when I pasted some text from the Louvre's website regarding a sculpture I photographed:




Church of the Chocolate Éclairs? Hm...

For my birthday this Sunday, I think I'll attend the early morning service at the Church of the Chocolate Éclairs, and then I'll head over to the Church of the Latte for the late morning service. Shoot... I just realized something: I don't have any sins to confess to for this week. I better start crackin'. . .
