I've spent countless hours framing and matting my images for my upcoming show this Friday. I'm sure I would be done by now if other things didn't need my attention. Muggsy needs to be petted, blog posts beg to be written, the floor needed to swept, and damn if nacho and chocolate cravings didn't need some tending to.
Did I tell you that I'm having a show this Friday?
I'm been racking my brain to come up with an artist statement. I titled the show "Distractions" , and although it's a great title, I wasn't sure what to say about it other than the 3,997 images I took in Europe were of things that distracted me along the way.
The explanation, even if it is true, sounded to me quite bland.
Then BINGO! A deeper truth revealed itself while I was finishing off a nice glass of red wine, and I jotted this down up:
"I was told by many friends that I would learn a lot about myself traveling alone in Europe. Well, I learned that I'm easily distracted."
Now if I can only finish the framing.
