373. Good news.

Today's headlines in the NY Times made me laugh:

Bush's Realization on Iran: No Good Choice Left Except Talks

Why did I laugh? Iran and US relations aside, "talks" is usually the best--and should always be the first--choice in any relationship. (Hey, Bush, I'm available if you need another advisor. I have good references.)

The best news came when I was away. (I should leave town more often.):

good news

Unfortunately, on NPR this morning, I heard John Negroponte's scare line about Iran maybe being able to get nukes in the first half of the next decade about 20 times.

Remember the Onion headline: "Bush Exit Strategy for Iraq: We'll Go Through Iran"

Deja vu.

Three cheers for the Onion. Laughter is the best medicine for these W times.
