Some casualties of my 4 month European sojourn:
2 battery chargers. (Ireland & Italy. The first one was a victim of my Universal Plug Adapter Ineptitude; the other one broke for no apparent reason)
electric toothbrush charger. (Italy. UPAI.)
camera case. (Italy. Lost or stolen. Luckily, the camera wasn't in it!)
one green sock. (Paris. Can't blame the dryer because, like most Europeans, I didn't have one.)
Murano glass watch band. (Bergamo Airport, Italy. It fell to its death after I removed it for the security check-point.)
Sketchers tennis shoes. (Italy. Wore a hole through the sole. They had a long useful life!)
3 ring binder. (Ireland. Victim of packer's regret. Met its end in a hotel's trash bin.)
Stuffed Lobster key chain. (Paris. Tossed during a rare moment of practical packing. I had the guy for 6 years--I bought him as a souvenir on my first solo trip ever, to Boston. I think that sometimes it's good to let go of even good things, or things attached to good memories, so that room is created for other good stuff, like a brand new pair of shoes.)
