Unpredictable as hell.
Cloudless and sunny during the day:
A man and his dog enjoying the sun.
Plants enjoying the sun.
Janelle enjoying the plants, building, and wall that were all enjoying the sun. (The Hôtel de Ville had a special garden exhibit yesterday. In the sun.)
Then suddenly, without warning: torrential downpour with lightening! It was an amazing thing to witness. Fortunately I stopped for an aperitif, a kir of course, under the protection of a café's awning shortly before the storm hit. Eric at ParisDailyPhoto (who has a better photo showing the severity of the storm) says that lightening stuck about 7,000 times!
On May 13th, a Sunday, I was caught in a similar surprise storm during the middle of the day that ripped branches from trees, knocked over sidewalk café chairs, and florists' potted plants. It was incredible. As quickly as it showed up, it left. It lasted a half hour, tops. The sun came out as if nothing unusual happened.
