Les Z'indems Café
Les Z'indems Café, the other evening. My roommate, an Italian from Milan finishing her thesis work, introduced me to this fabulous place. We enjoyed a popular Parisan aperitif called "kir." Basically, it's white wine flavored with a fruit syrup. The flavor? Red.
Today at Les Z'indems Café. I read. I wrote. I drank. I snapped pictures. I breathed. I laughed. I spoke to locals. I...no longer amuse myself with tiny sentences.
Pretty tile on the wall next to my table.
I love libraries, and I have a new project. On the internet I found a list of all of the libraries in Paris, and I'm going to visit them all. This one is in my arrondissement: Bibliothèque Saint-Blaise.
There are several ateliers d'artiste (artist workshops) in my neighborhood. I found this one on my walk today.
Across the street: a hat shoppe! Possibly, a hat designer's studio, but I didn't investigate further.
What's so funny? (Chalk writing on a building's wall. No surprise, it's near a school.)
It's springtime in Paris.
This iris's petals were the size of my hand.

To my friend David in Las Vegas:
Happy Birthday!

I don't care for coffee, so I can't recommend a place, but there is a café that serves an awesome mug of chocolat on Rue de Rivoli opposite the Tuileries. (I know, long block. Sorry I can't be more specific)
Champagne Kir Royale, now THAT'S a drink. The red in that comes from a black currant liquor, Creme de Cassis
TH: Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to trek over that way and get me a mug of yum!
Mike: I ordered the Royale the other night. Oh mon dieu! Not cheap! €8! The regular Kir is only €2.80. Disgusted, I bought a bottle of Chardonnay and Creme de Cassis and have been enjoying my homemade brew all week. Next week: moonshine.
