What can I say? I'm happy. Very happy. I thoroughly enjoyed my last couple of weeks in Italy--so much so that I'm sure to be back next month.
Yesterday I arrived in Paris via train. It was a seven hour trip and molto bella. The south of France is beautiful beyond words. The train carried us through triumphant mountains, picturesque villages, and then through the lush green countryside that often surprised with fantastic brilliantly yellow mustard (?) fields. My breath often escaped me.
What is it about Paris? I arrived at the train station hungry, lugging 2 heavy and cumbrous suitcases and an awkward shoulder-hating laptop bag, hot, and feeling lost... And yet, excitement and joy washed over me as I wandered through the station to assess my location and determine my direction. A hint of me felt panic and vulnerable for the foreignness around, but calmness, ease, excitement overwhelmed the hint.
Paris, what is it about you that makes me feel assured and calm when I ought not to be? Hm?
Well, I'm not going to get any answers to my question sitting here typing away. Off I go to explore! Photos and more later. I promise.

Mona, darling: Mazy misses you! (Kisses.) Yes, I am reminded of the Hamptons, but really, the Hamptons can't be replaced. Don't forget about the fundraiser, darling. I'll send Henry over with the limo.

Marcy!: Thank you! So nice to see your comment on my blog. Come to Paris. We can scope out the most excellent design scene together. Hope you are doing well.
