584. Holy crap.

I had a double shot latte late this morning around 11:30, and a single shot latte with a friend around 1:30 today. I'm so freakin' agitated.

Coffee and me do not go well together. Damn coffee. I wish it didn't taste so good.

I hope I can fall asleep tonight.

Let's see. I haven't posted a janelle renee song of the day in a while. Let me think of a calm, peaceful, non-angry, non-caffeinated one...

If You Leave by OMD. Boy, does that bring back memories. Specifically, my high school summer love (the summer before my senior year). He and I went to the prom together and danced to this song*. We left shortly after, but not before he grabbed a bunch of balloons. It was a full moon that night. As we headed to the car he stopped and grabbed both of my hands. "Look up at the moon. Close your eyes, and make a wish," he said.

I did, and when I opened my eyes he let go of the balloons.

He kissed me, and said that he wish had come true. Yeah, he was smooth, but sweet and sincere.

Did my wish come true? No. I wished that that night would never end.

I haven't changed much since 1988. I still wish for the impossible. I don't mind that my wishes don't come true. Too much.

* Now that I think about it some more, it was actually some dumb song from Dirty Dancing (I Had the Time of My Life ??), and not this song. But this song is still a good one and always brings back sweet memories.
