This word verification was oddly appropriate for my last comment, on my last post (don't miss the comment section--good stuff in there), in which I awarded the carnival/festival attraction Titanic Adventure Slide™, my Bad Design of the Week award for being oddly inappropriate. (*phew* That was a mouthful of a sentence.)

My verifictionary definition:
Trag[edy] DJ: The person who mixes carnival music appropriate to tragedy-themed rides and attractions.

I love it when those word verifications practically write their own definitions.

Beta blogger, on the other hand, I don't love. I like it enough--I'd take it to the movies, but not out to dinner-- but I don't love it. I'm long overdue for another installment of "Annoying things about BETA Blogger." (See the comment section of the last post.)

Have you been annoyed with the beta version of Blogger, too? Is the alpha version annoying enough for you? What are your annoyances?

I don't think that was "tragedy," I think it was the combination of "tragedy" and "Opus Dei."

Write your own punchlines, people.

TH: I want to come up with a punchline that includes "human error," but I'm drawing a blank.

K: I don't know how the selection process works, if there was one. I saw that Neel (linked in my sidebar as "Brevity is Wit") switched to beta, and in my blogger dashboard page I followed the instructions to convert to beta.

DS: Yes! I like that idea. Bad design is tragic, but to a much lesser degree.

The worst offenders would be those that result in human death, sickness, or injury. Further down the list would be those designs that relate or remind us of human tragedies in bad taste rather than with wit or respect.
