Lately, I've been noticing oodles and oodles of cars missing a single hubcap. What gives? Did they simply tire of the dizzying pace of life? Decide to venture the road less traveled? Hook up with the missing sock?
What's up with the hubcaps lingering on the side of the freeway? Are they the ones who've changed their mind? What will become of them? Who will they turn to once they realize their three mates will never return for them and are, in fact, doing just fine without them?
Ay. There's so much sadness in the world.

I notice that a lot too, =P.
I am feeling a bit better and thank you very much for asking. I appreciate it.
Dude, I just posted this!
Glad you are feeling better.
Headaches and general life angst have been going around lately. I've seemed to have caught the latter myself. I hear it last only a few days with some mild congestion, so I'm not too worried.
You feel better yourself..and I have some good timing evidently, hehe. Go me!
Go you, indeed!
Now, off I go. Places to go, someone to meet.
I too am missing a single hubcap. It's been gone for so long that when I finally got around to trying to purchase a replacement hubcap, I was told that Subaru no longer manufactured my old hubcap and that it would cost a couple of hundred dollars to buy 4 new matching hubcaps. At the time, my car was 10-years-old. It just didn't seem worth it.
I suppose that I could have just purchased a non-matching hubcap, but that seemed kinda tacky.
Sorry to such an eyesore on the road. I do have a nice wardrobe, however. Maybe that offsets my old car with missing hubcap aesthetics.
Dean, I can't wait to read it. What a funny-odd title!
Tonya: You're beautiful, smart, famous, and fashionable. It's only fair that your car is an eyesore.
I remember my dad, in preparation for his 25th high school reunion, trying to deal with his missing hubcap situation. Similar to Tonya, he just wasn't willing to shell out some ridiculous amount of money for new hubcaps. So he went to the junkyard and bought two hubcaps each of two different styles. He put two matching hubcaps on the left side of the car and two matching hubcaps on the right side of the car. Good enough, right?
Mysterious A: What a great solution your dad came up with! Not many people would notice that the hubcaps didn't match.
When a hubcap fell off my Hyundai Excel, I got a hot tip that I'll pass along here: I bought a set of 4 at Walmart for under $30. (It might have even been under $20.) Those cheap suckers stayed on the car for as long as I owned it, maybe 6 years.
You owned a Hyundai Excel!?!!?
............for six years?!?!?!?
Madison Lurker: You should see the other guy.
Actually, I owned it for only 4 years.
That's the book of the month for my bookclub. As soon as I'm done with How to Be Good (ugh, many parallels in my life, sorta) I'll dive into that one. I'll start with Jesus and think of you.
I read Nipple Jesus today and thought of you. You don't look a thing like him.
