465. Sunday and Monday discoveries.

My Monday evening:
Caffe Trieste on the corner of Dwight and San Pablo in Berkeley. Beer on tap, wonderful wines, the bestest ever espresso drinks, menu, wonderful decor... I found the café of my dreams. FABULOUS live music: Parlor Tango. They played Argentine (sounded trés francais to moi) Tango, complete with a beret wearing, beautiful Parisian woman on the bandoneon. Simply adorable. Loved, loved, LOVED the music. I felt like I was back in my 2nd favorite city... Paris. Je t'aime, Paris. Guess where I'll be the second Tuesday of September? Paris? No, I wish. Caffe Trieste. It's a suitable alternative.

Sunday:
Sunday, I purchased my new running shoes (bouncy!) and headed back home along the scenic route in Alameda on Shoreline with the top down. It was a beautiful day! I look south to the horizon and see the sky is filled with a bunch of smiles. (They were upside down smiles and too cheery looking to be called frowns.) "What the heck?" I wondered. It looked as if there was a run on funny-looking kites. I pulled over, parked the car, crossed the street, and walked onto the beach. There were families playing and laying around completely oblivious to the craziness happening out on the surf. The kites were attached to people on surf boards. "What is this madness?" I hollered. "I demand to know!"

A wet suit wearing man walked over to me and explained what was going on. Kite surfing?! Color me intrigued!

Running shoes, eh? Is someone considering taking up running? Hmmmm?

Mike: Yes. No. Hm!

It's past the considering phase! I'm running like the wind. A slow sweaty hot wind, that is. (Not a pretty sight.)
