"If I took you out to dinner, would you let me drive your car?" He works in the neighborhood. Although we smile and wave to each other, this is the first thing he's ever said to me.
"No. I don't let anybody drive my car, but you are welcome to ask me out to dinner," I reply smiling, as I continue into my car. I think he might still be standing where I left him, processing what I said.
Notice that I didn't tell him what my answer would be.

I'm still standing here processing what you said.

Tart: Cute, yes. Kissable? I guess everybody is kissable. Yum...cupcakes.
OM: As well you should be.
MT: Hey, that's funny, because you're my hero!
There's a song, by That Dog. that has that line it. *thinking*
Oh yes. It's called "Annie" and it goes:
Let me take you out
So you can have some fun
But can we take your car
'Cause I don't have one

He says let's go for a ride
I'll take you anywhere you want to go
I asked if maybe I could drive
He said no.
I've never heard that song. I'll have to find it, SG.

hbahnc (pron.: h'bahn-k): How somebody putting on airs (or putting down the French via an exaggerated accent) would pronounce "h bank."
