My reply-comment to Mike's comment on this post reminded me about a post I unintentionally and mentally composed last night at a friend's birthday party:
On Wednesday, my blog will be exactly 20 months old. (It's still young enough to age it in months.) I've noticed that I've been increasingly using both my mentally-written and actually-written blog material in cocktail-party-like situations and conversations.
It's a surreal moment when I realize what I'm doing, like my blog has come to life. Only I'm not removed from my audience. It's Just Thoughts live-feed.
I didn't foresee this benefit, the bonus of prepared and partly-scripted conversation material, when I started this little hobby.
Mostly, I'm pleased with myself as lead author of my life. (It's a hefty novel. Oftentimes it's hard to get through, but the drama entertains.) My sitcom moments, like this blog and light social interactions, can use a little editing, but they aren't too shabby. Um, 3/5 stars.
