452. Narcissus takes a leap.

I'm taking a break from apartment cleaning to tell you about an odd occurrence that just now happened. My Narcissus bulbs leapt out of the closet*, hit my shoulder, and made a bigger mess for me to clean.

The bulbs separated from their roots and are beyond any help I'm willing to give.

I'm sorry, Narcissus.

.........
*Why did I keep my bulbs in the closet? The Bay Area isn't as liberal as you might imagine, and I remember reading something about keeping the bulbs in the dark to jump-start their blooming cycle.

The societal pressures for beauty--and maybe other things--were too repressive for my dear bulbs, perhaps.

"Why did you keep your narcissus bulbs in the closet?" Why are you getting in touch with them now?

I believe he, er, they got in touch with me first. Maybe I look like a bulb.
