343. I ate the rabbit.

I already have 2 posts written. Blogger has, at least up to the point of me writing these words, refused to publish them, and I'm left filling quite unfulfilled. My writing bug doesn't feel happy until she sees her work published.

So, my bug and I are back again to write.

What does the weekend of a hot, bored girl look like? I don't know, but this is what my weekend looked like:

My friends treated me to dinner at Mezze Saturday night. The three of us ate family style. I ordered a very French rabbit dish with fresh noodles. (I'm not supposed to eat noodles, but these were worth the later discomfort!) I couldn't remember the last time I ate steak, and their prime rib did not disappoint. It was flavorful bite after bite after delicious bite. (I wanted the whole thing for myself, but my "friends" wouldn't hear of it!) I don't even remember what the third dish was...

Sunday was another delicious food day. I attended the OakTown Blues and Bar-B-Que, a fundraiser for a local private school. It was an adult-only event, but I was undeniably the odd duck. "How old?" "What grade?" I wasn't sure what to make of these questions the first time they were asked of me. By the end of the day I was sick of saying, "I don't have children" to happy couples with children.

I love silent auctions. Unfortunately, I was on a budget. Luckily, I am a lucky person. I won 2 books and a dinner with an author!
Raising the Bar : Integrity and Passion in Life and Business: The Story of Clif Bar, Inc.
by Gary Erickson and Lois Lorentzen, and Love and Other Impossible Pursuits by Ayelet Waldman. 30 Brownie Points to the person who correctly guesses which of the 3 authors with whom I'll be dining.

Well, Blogger finally unbloggered (nod to Tom Bozzo for inventing (?), or at least introducing me to that great word) itself and posted my 2 previous posts.

Happy blogging and dining.

Wouldn't you know it? Blogger has bloggered this post. We'll see when it decides to publish it.

Both books look interesting, per Amazon. So, I offer U bloggy book club. Yup, I am tween books at the moment & am willing to read one! Tell me which one & I will go buy it. Then we can, chat over savory crackers--natch!

BTW, all the chow sounds yummy. Sorry U had to share.

(Lastly, ever been to the Sonoma Mission Inn? I have a good story bout my stay there. ; ) )

Jocelyn: That'd be fun. Of the two, I'll start Raising the Bar first, but I won't be able to get up it until much later. I'm finishing American Vertigo (which I highly recommend--take a look at it and see if you'd be interested in reading it), and I have 4 others left in my queue.

MT: Will do!
